Highlands Community Center

The Highlands Community Center is a 2,400 square foot community center on the redesigned 1.61 acres of land now named Highlands Park. 

*Please note, there is no after-care at this location.

  • The park itself is open from sunrise to sundown.

Rentals

This facility is available for rentals during the week and on weekends. It is available to rent in 4-hour blocks on weekends or hourly on weekdays. 

Saturday time blocks include:

  • 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • 1:00 PM - 05:00 PM
  • 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM 

Sunday time blocks include:

  • 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM 
  • 1:00 PM - 05:00 PM

*Proof of residency must be provided: Utility bill and Drivers license.

A $75.00 deposit fee will be added to the total cost of your pavilion rental and a $250 deposit for facility use (indoor). The deposit will be returned if the facility is left clean, returned to its original condition, and vacated by the designated time on the permit. The facility must be booked at least 2 weeks prior to the rental date and no more than 90 days in advance.

Checks will only be accepted for payment 5 weeks prior to the rental date. Other forms of acceptable payment include credit cards, cash, and money orders.

Alcoholic beverages and/or gambling in any form are not allowed on City property.

Only approved bounce house vendors are allowed at City parks.

Capoeira

Capoeira is a Brazilian Martial Art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics, music and spirituality. Join us Mondays and Wednesdays - Youth Ages 5-15 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm and Adult Ages 16-45 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. Drop in and monthly options available. Contact 954-429-1847 for more information.

Senior Shadow Boxing

FREE program every Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM. Shadow boxing can be a great way for seniors to stay active, even from a sitting or stationary position, as well as learn pivotal defensive techniques. It provides a low-impact cardiovascular workout that helps improve fitness, balance, coordination, and can even boost mood, confidence, and mental alertness. Little Builders

The Little Builders program will allow your child to build objects out of wood and metal. Little Builders runs every Thursday evening from 6 PM to 7 PM. The fee is $2.00 per child and each child will take home the wood craft they created. Class is limited to 15 participants. Ages 3+. Contact 954-429-1847 for more information.
