A Robotic Pet or preloaded MP3 Player are helping isolated seniors and individuals with Alzheimer’s disease avoid loneliness and boredom.
The Department of Elder Affairs is offering free robotic cats, dogs, or preloaded MP3 Players. The robotic pet or MP3 player will be delivered directly to the senior’s or caregiver’s home.
The interactive pets help combat social isolation and depression among older individuals and people living with Alzheimer’s disease by improving overall mood and quality of life. Seniors, caregivers, and those living with dementia may benefit by listening to music by reducing stress or distress and enhancing their moods.
