Historic Preservation Board Now Seeks its First Members

The City of Deerfield Beach is actively seeking its first members to serve on the newly established Historic Preservation Board. The roles and responsibilities of Board members include (but are not limited to) reviewing national and local nominations for historic designation, reviewing proposed alterations to historically designated properties, recommending code amendments supporting historic preservation, and promoting community awareness of historic preservation. Eligible applicants will possess professional experience in either architecture, history, architectural history, planning, prehistoric and historic archaeology, folklore, cultural anthropology, curation, conservation, and landscape architecture. Applicants without professional experience but demonstrate special interest, experience, or knowledge in history, architecture, or related disciplines will also be considered. The application is accessible online and must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office.
