READY2WORK Program – Soft Skills Training for City Residents

The City of Deerfield Beach is partnering with the Dale Carnegie Institute and the Broward County Library to offer the READY2WORK program, a workforce development training program that prepares City residents in soft skills and job searching success.

The program is open to 30 Deerfield Beach residents and offers five weeks of training in customer service, communication, workplace readiness, time management, and job searching techniques. Program instruction will take place Saturdays from 08:30 AM to 10:30 AM starting September 14.

Individuals who successfully complete the READY2WORK program will be more prepared to become productive employees as they receive training in soft skills that are proven to improve employee retention. READY2WORK participants are also monitored on the key characteristics of Attendance, Punctuality, Attitude, and Motivation.

The fee to attend the program is $50.00, and fee waiver applications are available for those that submit proof of unemployment, receipt of a layoff notice or evidence of earning wages at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.

Local companies are encouraged to contact the Economic Development department to have first access to this talent immediately after completing the program.

Applications open August 14, for eligibility requirements or to apply, visit https://www.deerfield-beach.com/1781/Ready2Work-Program.
