The City of Deerfield Beach recognizes the importance of education and encourages students to excel in academics and sports.  In an effort to recognize hard work in the classroom and on the field, the City along with Education Advisory Board (EAB), developed a “Student Scholar Athlete of the Month” award.  

The EAB will select a Deerfield Beach student winner each month demonstrating excellence in academics, athletics, and community involvement.  Once the award recipient is announced, the City Commission will then recognize the student at a City Commission meeting that will be scheduled quarterly.

Students are encouraged to complete an application which can be found on the City's webpage at: http://www.deerfield-beach.com/1735/Student-Scholar-Athlete-of-the-Month-Pro.  Application deadlines will be the third Friday of each month.
